The Irish dry stout known as Guinness was first brewed in 1759. At Arthur Guinness’s brewery located at St. James’s Gate in Dublin, Ireland.
The flavor of comes from roasted unmalted barley and malted barley. They are relatively recent additions to the grist that date back to the middle of the 20th century.
Compared to a standard draught, it has less alcohol by volume in it. A typical beer has an ABV of 5%, however this beer has only 4.2%. If you normally become drunk after five standard beers in three hours, you could drink nearly another full Guinness to obtain the same effect. You can drink a little more Guinness than a conventional beer before you get wasted.
